In the name of Jesus Stories about unholy dealings and crimes involving men of the cloth in this country seem to be on the rise and a cause for great concern. Such behaviour contradicts the noble and trustworthy role enshrined in churches and religious establishments and is a betrayal of the trust the government and people of Namibia have in pastors and preachers expected to deliver people from sin and other social ills that rob a nation of sane and morally upright citizens. Churches are supposed to be in the forefront and granted permission to reside and deliver the flock from sin; it is ironic that some pastors have become the villains breaking every moral lesson of the Bible to become Satan''s agents or accomplices within our borders and in our midst. If the criminal charges preferred against a pastor of the Mennonite Brethren Church one Moussongela Marcelino Pedro are anything to by, and he is found guilty, then government and specifically immigration officials must strictly vet foreign pastors coming into the country in the name of Jesus to sin and mislead innocent followers. Moussongela is facing charges of rape, abortion and human trafficking and his victims are not only Namibians, but allegations have been raised by the State that he also transgressed against his own family members, wife and children included. Not only does such behaviour tarnish or ridicule the reputation of other pastors and churches, but casts a dark cloud over the religious and holiness that enshrines the gospel and the role played by churches in Namibia. We call upon the people of Namibia to join hands and oust such immoral churchmen from our midst. We beg relevant government agents to dig deeper into the background of pastors like Moussongela who, with their religious rhetoric are alleged to have abused the trust of their followers in the name of Jesus and turned them into victims of their trust in the men of God.
