The Inspector-General of the Namibian Police, Sebastian Ndeitunga, says stricter gun-control measures will be implemented in Namibia.
“We will make amendments to the Arms and Ammunition Act which will address who will carry firearms. Firearms are not given to take the law into your own hands. It has become a concern for many of us and we have to do something,” said Ndeitunga.
The amendment bill should be tabled in Parliament this year, he indicated.
Ndeitunga said it is too easy for people to obtain a firearm in Namibia.
