Nafwu congress held against court order

The Namibia Farm Workers Union (Nafwu) congress held last weekend was illegal.
This follows a letter dated July 31 from the Deputy Labour Commissioner Tuulikki Shikongo who directed the secretary-general of Nafwu Moses Kativa that the congress should not take place as it violates a High Court order.
“I would instruct you to postpone this congress up until such a time that all parties are properly involved as per the court order, as you are in violation of the court order and that of the Nafwu 1994 Constitution,” Shikongo said.
