The magistrate who recorded confessions made by double murder suspects Raymond Windstaan and Johannes Eixab has admitted that she did not explain adequately the implications of the admissions they made.
Magistrate Surita Savage was giving evidence in a trial-within-a-trial in the Windhoek High Court yesterday. She also admitted that she did not warn the accused that the confessions could be used as evidence against them.
