A former police constable at Gobabis, who is accused of stabbing to death his two sons, Tertius Swartz, 7, and Gregory Swartz, 4, is expected to formally apply for bail on 9 September in the Windhoek High Court.
Albertus Ganeb, 31, has been in custody for roughly two and a half years since his arrest on 25 April 2014.
He is facing two murder charges read in conjunction with the provisions of Combating of Domestic Violence Act.
Ganeb also faces a charge of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm for the assault of Romilly Swartz during 2013 and 2014.
