Eight men convicted in one of the Caprivi treason trials have successfully petitioned the Supreme Court after the High Court dismissed their application for leave to appeal.
After the announcement of the Supreme Court ruling, Acting Judge Petrus Unengu of the Windhoek High Court postponed the matter to October 28, 2015 so that the accused can in the meantime obtain the outcome of the appeal.
The Acting Judge in March this year dismissed the group’s application for leave to appeal. They then petitioned the Supreme Court.
