New FMD scare in Zambezi

There is another suspected outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) reported in the Linyanti Consituency, southwest of Katima Mulilo in the Zambezi Region.
The announcement, made by the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry, comes hot on the heels of the lifting of the ban on animal movement in the region early in July.
According to the ministry, 39 cattle are suspected of being infected after a farmer reported a possible case on July 10 near Malundu. Samples have been collected and results are still pending.
