The Namibian government is not serious about combating gender-based violence and other related issues that have developed into a pandemic during the last decade, a senior United Nations official says.
Neil Boyer, the UN Development Programme Deputy Resident Representative, told Namibian Sun that the money committed by the government is simply not enough.
“Our feeling is if you really want to look at government’s priorities you look at how they are allocating their budget. Rhetoric aside, pretty pictures aside,” he said.
