As surface water and boreholes dry up, many towns are tightening their water-supply belts or are forced to reduce usage through restricted water supply from the authorities.
Most of the towns facing a water crisis are situated in central Namibia, but the crisis is extending to Karasburg in the south and several towns in the Erongo Region.
John Shigwedha, NamWater spokesperson, yesterday confirmed that apart from Windhoek, Okahandja, Okakarara and Karibib are in the red.
