Women at the children’s ward of Katutura State Hospital on the seventh floor, have been dumped on mattresses, while they say they have to stay awake, afraid rats might reach their sickly children. When Namibian Sun visited the hospital this morning, in one of the rooms a group of women could be seen laying on flimsy mattresses in a room with their children. “Some of us have been here since January. They just gave us the mattresses and told us to sleep here. It’s getting colder and some of the kids are developing flu but what can we do?” the mother said. Read more about No beds, many rats
