Three women - aged 21, 29 and 38 - were arrested at the Windhoek Central Prison on Tuesday, after they allegedly attempted to smuggle prohibited items, including drugs, tobacco, dagga and cellphones into the facility.
The 38-year-old woman, who is from Gobabis, used her 10-year-old daughter to smuggle tobacco into prison, while cannabis and four mobile phones were also allegedly found in her possession.
She allegedly attempted to bring the drugs to a trial-awaiting cousin.
