Tensions reached boiling point at the monthly City of Windhoek council meeting, when the management committee rejected a motion by three opposition party members, in which they questioned the allocation of erven in Khomasdal and Wanaheda last year.
The six unserviced erven, between 1 695 en 64 191 square metres in size, are valued at approximately N$90 million.
According to councillors Brunhilde Cornelius (Rally for Democracy and Progress), Joseph Kauandenge (Nudo) and Ignatius Semba (DTA), the tender had already expired by the time it was allocated.
