The crisis at the Onandjokwe Lutheran Hospital that threatened to degenerate into a full-scale work stoppage last week was resolved after the hospital staff’s outstanding salaries for June were finally deposited into their bank accounts.
Nurses, cleaners and other institutional workers staged a peaceful demonstration in front of the administration block on Wednesday and threatened to seal off the hospital should their outstanding salaries not be paid into their bank accounts within 24 hours.
