This year alone a staggering 822 cases of gender-based violence have been reported.
This was revealed by First Lady Monica Geingos when she launched the Zero Tolerance Media Campaign against gender Based Violence 2015 on Friday.
This year’s campaign is taking place under the theme ‘Spot It to Stop It.’
According to her, data on violence and GBV is an essential tool to craft strategies and identify trends in communities. However, such data is often outdated.
She said the fact that one out of three women is exposed to GBV is “frightening”.
