Residents of Ongwediva in the Oshana Region are pleading for the construction of speed bumps on a section of the main road that passes through the area, following the death of an eight-year-old boy on Friday.
Layan Muskwei, who was hit by a car late in the afternoon, died that evening. He was the second victim of what residents described as reckless driving by motorists who hold street races on the stretch of road with a 60km/h speed limit.
“We need streetlights and speed bumps on this section of the road immediately because many lives are being lost on this road.
