MPs lash out local banks

Minister of Information and Communication Technology Tjekero Tweya has lashed out at commercial banks for failing to provide financial assistance to “penniless entrepreneurs”.
Tweya made these comments in parliament during debate on proposed amendments to the Marine Resources Act.
It is then that it came to light that commercial banks reportedly do not accept allocated fishing quotas as collateral for loans.
