If not addressed as a matter of urgency, the poverty rates in the country will disrupt the peace that is currently being enjoyed.
This was said by Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare Minister, Bishop Zephania Kameeta, yesterday.
Kameeta, who spoke to Namibian Sun on the sidelines of the Symposium on Contemporary Issues Facing the Church in Namibia, said poverty levels in the country are “disturbing”.
“We should thank government for creating such a ministry, but we must not take peace for granted. There cannot be peace if people go to bed hungry,” said Kameeta.
