The police yesterday reported two separate incidents of explosives and firearms discovered in Windhoek by members of the public.
In the first case, at around 13:20 workers at the municipal dumpsite in Windhoek’s Eros suburb reported finding a 50mm mortar bomb.
Police spokesperson Edwin Kanguatjivi said the bomb appeared to be of Indian origin and presumably dated back to the liberation war.
Kanguatjivi said the dump workers discovered the bomb device in a box left near one of their shacks.
