A group of disabled workers, who were locked out of an Avis property after it was sold by the Ehafo Trust for N$21 million, will today take their battle to the High Court.
The application will apparently centre around the ownership of the property, which includes a centre where the disabled reported daily.
The group of 65 workers have been on government’s payroll since 2007, after the centre ran into massive financial difficulties.
Worker representative Marius Nujoma indicated yesterday they are being assisted by the Office of the Attorney-General.

While his ‘footsoldiers’ have been sentenced to lengthy jail terms, it would take serious diplomacy before the undisputed leader of the failed Caprivi secession attempt, Mishake Muyongo, can be brought before a Namibian court.
The International Relations Ministry says it is ready to request his extradition from Denmark, should the right procedures be followed and the relevant government departments, including the office of the Attorney-General, pave the way.
Some say it is best for Muyongo to be left in exile while others describe him as “untouchable now”.

President Hage Geingob yesterday deliberately avoided answering pertinent questions about the financial status of the country, his salary and those of his advisors, and the public uproar in the two Kavango regions.
Instead Geingob focused his attention on blasting what he called “social media elites” and certain media outlets, whose “hatred will not work”.
During a live television broadcast journalists were dumbfounded because Geingob’s answer to almost every question asked was: “I do not know,” or: “I have not heard about that.”
